Position Overview

We are pleased to announce a leadership opportunity for a Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join our dedicated stroke services team. This role primarily operates within our stroke services but requires flexibility to support various aspects of the stroke care continuum.

We seek an individual who is proactive, possesses exceptional organizational and communication skills, and is passionate about advancing stroke care. Flexibility and specialized expertise in acquired neurological communication and swallowing disorders are essential. You will play a crucial role in guiding the development of both speech and language therapy and the broader stroke therapy services.

Opportunities for further enhancement of your leadership and management capabilities, alongside clinical skill development, will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Coordinate and collaborate to deliver a high-quality service that meets the needs of patients and their families.

  • Supply the Therapy Lead and management team with pertinent information for service planning and development.
  • Lead regular team meetings and facilitate effective communication within the department and across the organization, ensuring timely dissemination of information.
  • Oversee the daily operations of the team and ensure effective communication.
  • Contribute to both uni-disciplinary and multidisciplinary clinical teams by discussing input around client needs to ensure a well-coordinated care plan.
