About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Adult Psychiatry Consultant to join our team at Cygnet Health Care. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management: Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team, and lead the implementation of risk assessment, risk management, and clinical governance.
  • Patient Assessment and Treatment: Assess referrals, undertake mental state examinations of service users, and undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis, and treatment.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work as part of a multidisciplinary team, participate in ward rounds and clinical audits, and supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals and managers' hearings.
  • Professional Development: Participate in the 1:7 on-call rota, and contribute to the development of our services through continued professional development and research opportunities.

Requirements
  • Qualifications: Fully GMC registered and MBBS (or equivalent) qualified, registered on the specialist register (CCT/CESR), Section 12, and AC Status.
  • Experience: Experienced and knowledgeable in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis, knowledgeable of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice, along with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and Code of Practice.
  • Skills: First-rate communicator, able to interview, assess, and treat patients, and write clear, comprehensive medical notes.
  • Professional Development: Committed to continued professional development, able to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, and a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists (MRCPsych) or equivalent.
