About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team at FirstGroup. As a key member of our Rolling Stock Engineering team, you will be responsible for providing advanced technical support and fault finding for rolling stock and train software.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support and fault finding for rolling stock and train software, including writing reports and recommending improvements.
  • Support the development of fleet modifications to improve performance, including planned and ad-hoc mentoring and development of colleagues.
  • Enhance incident response coverage, attending incidents, collecting and reviewing incident data, and investigating repeat defects, technical delays, and fleet performance.
  • Support the wider LTV team by implementing changes as required by GWR and improving business performance in areas under the responsibility of the LTV Fleet Manager.

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge and experience working with DMUs (Class 16x) and/or EMUs (Class 387s) and associated fault finding.
  • Knowledge and experience working with train software, including downloads, uploading, interrogation, and analysis.
