Your Role
We are seeking a seasoned and visionary Editorial Director to join our dynamic non-fiction team at Piatkus. This role is pivotal in shaping our publishing strategy, focusing on impactful titles in popular psychology, innovative thinking, and health sciences. You will be responsible for commissioning approximately ten new non-fiction titles annually, emphasizing works with significant market potential and longevity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture robust relationships with authors and literary agents, both domestically and internationally.
- Proactively identify and acquire compelling manuscripts by staying ahead of market trends and opportunities.
- Oversee the entire lifecycle of your titles, collaborating closely with authors, agents, and various internal departments.
- Act as a passionate advocate for your titles and the Piatkus non-fiction catalog, promoting them within the organization and beyond.
The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of the non-fiction landscape, coupled with a proven track record in commissioning. You should have an extensive network of industry contacts and a keen eye for groundbreaking ideas that resonate with readers. Your ability to navigate the complexities of the publishing process while maintaining a focus on commercial viability will be essential.

You will be an effective communicator, capable of delivering compelling pitches and crafting engaging promotional materials.
