Role Overview
PA EDitorial Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Managing Editor to join our team on a fixed-term project basis. As a key member of our editorial team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth migration of journals from ScholarOne to a bespoke system.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with the project lead and team to complete pre-alignment assessments on the existing submission system, ensuring the workflow is correctly documented for the upcoming migration.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including editors and the editorial team, to facilitate a seamless migration process.
- Review and assess the criteria for migration, identifying any risks, issues, or blockers, and maintaining a comprehensive tracker.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure a successful migration, working closely with the project team and stakeholders.
Requirements
- Detailed knowledge and experience of using ScholarOne for peer review management, with training provided on the publisher-specific system.
- Proven experience in the academic publishing industry, with a strong understanding of the sector's complexities.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks.
