Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner Associate

As a Band 5 Elective Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner Associate, you will play a crucial role in assisting the Band 6 Nurse Practitioner in managing their patient caseload, ensuring effective communication with the multidisciplinary team (MDT) and other specialist groups. The ideal candidate will be involved in optimizing patient care for surgical procedures and guiding patients throughout their pre-operative and post-operative experiences. Additionally, you will be responsible for educating staff and patients at all levels and contributing to the ongoing development of our services. Key Responsibilities
The primary responsibility of the Elective Orthopaedic Nurse Practitioner Associate is to assist the Band 6 Nurse Practitioner with their complex elective orthopaedic patient caseload, which may include individuals with multiple co-morbidities requiring pre-surgical optimization. You will independently manage consent clinics and provide essential support in urgent care and follow-up clinics. We expect the successful candidate to accurately document the conditions and progress of both pre-operative and post-operative patients, promptly reporting any concerns to the Nurse Practitioner or senior nursing staff.
As a teaching hospital, we encourage you to share your knowledge and mentor students, providing them with insights into the daily operations of our surgical services.

Experience
