Energy Policy Consultant

As a pivotal contributor to our energy policy initiatives, you will engage in comprehensive analysis that shapes the future of energy systems. Your work will be integral in ensuring that energy remains a cornerstone of our society and economy, addressing current challenges while paving the way for sustainable solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Policy Analysis and Development
- Conduct thorough and timely evaluations of critical issues and policy alternatives, leading to well-founded recommendations.
- Prepare clear and succinct documentation, including policy briefs, consultation papers, and impact assessments.
- Oversee and guide significant projects, ensuring effective engagement with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Articulate the advantages, challenges, and compromises of policy initiatives to senior management and partners.
- Facilitate collaboration across various teams to manage risks and leverage diverse expertise.
- Act as a representative for Ofgem, fostering positive relationships to address and resolve consumer-related challenges.
- Evaluate policy proposals by analyzing their costs, benefits, and risks, providing evidence-based recommendations.
- Perform quantitative analyses, including data assessments and market behavior evaluations, to support our understanding of wholesale electricity markets.
- Experience or knowledge in wholesale electricity markets, electricity security, or capacity market policy.
- Strong analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proven experience in managing and engaging with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to juggle various workstreams to ensure project timelines are met.
- Understanding the broader context of energy policy.
- Adaptability and a focus on continuous improvement.

- Ability to deliver results efficiently.
