Key Responsibilities:
Caseload Management:
Manage a varied caseload of adult male individuals transitioning from prison and those on community orders, assisting them in executing their action plans and navigating their recovery paths.
Building Trust and Continuity:
Foster trust and provide consistent support, ensuring smooth navigation through the recovery process, including directing clients to suitable services. Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' needs and develop collaborative action plans tailored to their recovery objectives.
Service Delivery:
Facilitate structured one-on-one sessions, group activities, and virtual meetings, while maintaining accurate documentation throughout the process.
Multi-Skilled Support:
Some Recovery Support Specialists may have the opportunity to become subject matter experts (SMEs) in specific vulnerable populations.
Collaboration with Existing Services:
Ensure access to and sustained engagement with statutory and existing provisions, enhancing motivation, providing practical assistance, and ongoing support to achieve controlled dependent behavior or abstinence, with the goal of reducing re-offending.
Target Adherence:
Meet the performance targets established by local commissioners, maintaining cooperative relationships with partner agencies and probation staff.
Requirements:
Level 3 qualification in substance misuse or equivalent experience in substance misuse services or a comparable role. Extensive experience in the substance misuse field or a related area. Proven experience managing high caseloads, conducting risk assessments, developing SMART action plans, and maintaining effective case records.
