Position Overview: As a Recovery Support Specialist, you will be instrumental in assisting individuals on their path to recovery, offering customized interventions, guidance, and support to help them reach their recovery objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments to determine the needs and strengths of clients, crafting individualized recovery strategies.
  • Provide personalized support to clients through counseling, coaching, and mentoring.
  • Lead group sessions and workshops that focus on recovery, life skills, and overall well-being.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including social workers, healthcare professionals, and peer support workers, to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Monitor and evaluate clients' progress, making necessary adjustments to recovery plans to maintain their relevance and effectiveness.
  • Advocate for clients' needs and rights within the healthcare system and community services.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant qualifications and training in substance misuse, mental health, or recovery practices.
  • Previous experience in a similar capacity, particularly with individuals recovering from substance misuse and/or mental health challenges.
  • Strong understanding of recovery principles, substance misuse, mental health, and associated social issues.
  • Excellent communication, counseling, and interpersonal skills.
  • Enhanced DBS dated within the last 12 months, or willingness to complete an enhanced DBS if not currently held.
