This position is ideal for those who are dedicated to fostering a safe and enjoyable swimming environment for children.

At Kings Camps, we operate sports and activity day camps designed to engage children during school holidays, promoting physical activity, enjoyment, and learning.

Our exceptional programs are delivered by dedicated staff who create memorable holiday experiences for children. We are currently seeking energetic Aquatic Instructors to contribute to our mission in the upcoming seasons.

Role Responsibilities

In this position, you will report to the Camp Manager and collaborate with a team of like-minded individuals. You will engage with 3 to 8 groups of children, ensuring a maximum of 16 participants in the pool during each session. Typical session times will vary, but generally occur during weekdays.

Child safety is our utmost priority; therefore, you will be responsible for supervising children during breaks, participating in swimming activities, ensuring safe equipment usage, and documenting any incidents that may arise.

As an Ofsted registered organization, you will also gain insights into our high standards for child care and wellbeing, as well as opportunities to obtain first aid certifications and build relationships with parents and guardians.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 12 months experience as a swim instructor.
  • Possession of a current SEQ Level 2 or STA Level 2 certification.
  • Current Lifeguard Qualification: National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC).
  • Experience working with children aged 5-17.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing young individuals.
  • A collaborative mindset, comfortable with diverse responsibilities and building positive relationships.
  • Ability to plan swimming activities for various age groups.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and risk assessments.
  • Skill in designing and delivering engaging sessions that prioritize child welfare.
