Kings Camps organizes sports and activity day camps for children during school holidays, focusing on our mission of promoting physical activity, enjoyment, and collaborative learning.
We recognize that exceptional programs are driven by outstanding individuals. We are currently seeking vibrant and committed Aquatic Instructors and Lifeguards to help us achieve our objectives in the upcoming seasons.

As a certified SEQ Level 2/STA Level 2 instructor, you will be tasked with delivering tailored and engaging sessions lasting 30-45 minutes to mixed ability groups of children aged 5-17, concentrating on enhancing water confidence and swimming techniques. About the Role
Reporting to the Camp Manager and collaborating with a team of like-minded individuals, you will engage with 3 to 8 groups of mixed ability children, with a maximum of 16 participants in the pool during each session. Session times and pool availability may vary, typically occurring between 9:30 AM and 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday.
Child safety is our utmost priority; therefore, you will ensure the welfare of children is maintained at all times, supervising during breaks, participating in swimming activities, overseeing safe equipment usage, and promptly documenting any incidents.
As we are Ofsted registered, you will have the opportunity to observe our high standards in child care and wellbeing, gain first aid qualifications, build relationships with parents/guardians, and access our leading training programs.
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 12 months experience as a swim instructor
- Possession of an up-to-date SEQ Level 2 or STA Level 2 certification for swim roles.
- Current Lifeguard Qualification: National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC). Up-to-date certification is required.
- At least 6 months experience working with children.
- A passion for developing and mentoring individuals, with proven experience in coaching or guiding younger participants.
- A team-oriented mindset, comfortable with rotating responsibilities and building positive relationships with both children and staff.
- Ability to plan swimming activities for various mixed ability groups.
- Knowledge of conducting depth testing and risk assessments.
- Skill in designing, planning, and delivering safe yet dynamic sessions from the poolside or in the water, using creative techniques that engage a wide age range while prioritizing child welfare.
