Aquatic Team Lead

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and communicative Swim Co-ordinator to join our team at Virgin Active. As a key member of our aquatic team, you will be responsible for the successful running, development, and management of our swim programme.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, manage, and implement a comprehensive swim programme, including adherence to ASA guidelines and innovations.
- Ensure swim instructors comply with health and safety policies and safeguarding procedures.
- Lead the swim team to deliver high-quality teaching and engaging activities, creating an exceptional experience for our members.
- Develop creative and innovative classes following the ASA National Swim Plan for Teaching Swimming.
- Line manage the swim team, including recruitment, training, and development, as well as rotas and payroll.
- Drive the department to meet set targets and budgets, exceeding commercial success by developing and training existing staff to brand standards.
- Accountable for delivering financial and departmental KPIs, department health checks, and audits.
Requirements:
- Excellent people skills and a flexible approach.
- Strong interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.
- ASA Level 2/STA Full Swim Instructor Qualification.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous experience in a commercial environment, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Proficiency in using a computer and ability to learn new systems and databases quickly.
- Lifeguard Qualification or confident swimming ability and willingness to take the course within the first month of starting.
- Enhanced DBS clearance before start date.
