Overview

Kings Camps operates sports and activity day camps designed to keep children active and engaged during school holidays. Our mission is to provide enjoyable and educational experiences that promote physical activity and teamwork.

As a certified instructor, you will lead tailored swimming sessions lasting between 30 to 45 minutes for mixed ability groups of children aged 5 to 17. This role welcomes swimming instructors with or without lifeguarding credentials.

Role Responsibilities

In this position, you will report to the Camp Manager and collaborate with a team to conduct swimming sessions for groups of children, ensuring their safety and enjoyment at all times. You will supervise children during breaks, facilitate swimming activities, and manage the safe use of equipment.

As part of an Ofsted registered organization, you will also have the chance to observe and implement high standards of care and well-being for children, gain first aid qualifications, and build relationships with parents and guardians.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • A minimum of 12 months experience as a swim instructor.
  • Possession of either an SEQ Level 2 or STA Level 2 certification.
  • Current Lifeguard Qualification: National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or National Rescue Award for Swimming Teachers and Coaches (NRASTC).
  • Experience working with children aged 5-17.
  • A passion for mentoring and developing young individuals.
  • A collaborative spirit, comfortable with various responsibilities and building positive relationships.
  • Ability to plan engaging swimming activities for different age groups.
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and risk assessments.
  • Skill in designing and delivering dynamic swimming sessions that cater to a wide age range while prioritizing child welfare.
