Job Overview
Position: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
We are seeking an Advanced Practitioner to perform x-ray guided interventional procedures and manage all aspects of mammography.
The Breast Imaging Unit is equipped with three state-of-the-art GE Pristina X-Ray rooms featuring tomosynthesis and CESM capabilities, along with three GE ultrasound rooms.
Main Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:
- Conduct all facets of mammography and function as an Advanced Practitioner within the Breast Imaging Unit, executing x-ray guided core biopsies and localisations.
- Utilize motivational techniques to obtain informed consent, ensuring patient cooperation during x-ray guided procedures.
- Adapt communication strategies to address the varying emotional needs of patients.
- Clearly explain the rationale for biopsy and localisation procedures.
- Perform imaging during screening, symptomatic, and assessment clinics.
- Safely operate specialized x-ray equipment.
- Play an active role in the development of departmental protocols.
- Engage in ongoing professional development.
- Adhere to the Data Protection Act and maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with Trust regulations.
