Role Overview

We are seeking a Regional Finance Manager for the UK & Ireland, who will report directly to the Regional Finance Director for Northern, Central & Eastern Europe. This role involves overseeing daily operations, compliance, and reporting for the UK & Ireland regions while supervising accounting teams in multiple locations. The position entails managing general accounting functions across various entities in the UK & Ireland, focusing on IFRS compliance, financial reporting, and the implementation of financial tools.

The ideal candidate will leverage strong analytical skills to produce comprehensive financial reports, participate in optimization projects, and prepare compliance documents, including tax returns and statutory consolidations. Success in this role requires a focus on process improvement, automation, and problem-solving, along with the ability to lead both remote and local teams, ensuring sound financial management.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

Prepare, submit, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with group timelines and IFRS standards for UK & Ireland entities; Ensure accurate and timely reporting compliant with IFRS and local GAAP; Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and statutory account preparations, resolving any audit issues.

Financial Analysis

Conduct financial analyses to support strategic business decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities; Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by senior management; Monitor financial performance and provide insights on key metrics.

Budgeting and Forecasting

Assist in the annual budgeting process for the UK & Ireland; Analyze budget variances and provide insights to finance teams; Contribute to long-term financial planning and strategy development.

Compliance and Control

Ensure adherence to local financial regulations and tax obligations; Implement and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity; Oversee VAT, PAYE, and other tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions; Implement internal controls based on group guidelines and manage audit and control action plans.

Taxation

Supervise VAT audits and tax declarations, along with other statutory filings; Ensure compliance with legal and tax requirements across entities.

Team Leadership

Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance for professional growth; Effectively allocate tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines and objectives; Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Systems and Process Enhancement

Assess current accounting systems and processes, recommending and implementing improvements; Ensure effective use of financial software and tools; Drive automation and efficiency initiatives within the finance department; Collaborate with accounting and finance teams on the implementation of financial tools.

Business Relations

Direct reporting line to the Regional Finance Director for Northern, Central & Eastern Europe; Engage in business partnering; Interact with the global Finance Consolidation Team located in Cluses (FRA) and Geneva (Swiss).

Qualifications

7-10 years of experience in a corporate finance role with proven leadership skills; Qualified accountant with expertise in IFRS, accounting, and financial consolidation; Strong knowledge of financial systems, particularly Hyperion and HFM (Onestream experience is a plus); Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Familiarity with SAP is a significant advantage; Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining the accuracy of financial information; Excellent organizational and time management skills, capable of working independently; Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead and develop a high-performing team; Proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement and operational excellence; Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels and with stakeholders; Business fluency in English and French; additional European languages are a strong asset.
