Role Overview

We are seeking a Regional Finance Manager for the UK and Ireland, who will report directly to the Regional Finance Director for Northern, Central & Eastern Europe. This role is essential for overseeing daily operations, compliance, and financial reporting for the UK and Ireland regions, while supervising accounting teams located in various cities.

The position involves managing general accounting functions across multiple entities, focusing on IFRS compliance and financial reporting, as well as the implementation of the SAP tool. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with finance teams in the UK and Ireland to handle various financial responsibilities, ensuring the integrity of accounts, preparation of financial statements, and managing audits.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Reporting

Prepare, submit, and analyze monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with IFRS and local standards for UK and Ireland entities; Ensure accurate and timely reporting in compliance with IFRS and local GAAP; Coordinate with external auditors for annual audits and statutory accounts preparation, resolving any audit issues.

Financial Analysis

Conduct financial analyses to support strategic business decisions and identify cost-saving opportunities; Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by senior management; Monitor financial performance and provide insights on key metrics.

Budgeting and Forecasting

Assist in the annual budgeting process for the UK and Ireland; Analyze budget variances and provide insights to finance teams; Support long-term financial planning and strategy development.

Compliance and Control

Ensure adherence to local financial regulations and tax obligations; Implement and maintain internal controls to protect company assets and ensure financial integrity; Oversee VAT, PAYE, and other tax filings, ensuring timely and accurate submissions; Implement internal controls based on group guidelines and manage audit action plans.

Taxation

Supervise VAT audits and tax declarations, along with other statutory filings; Ensure compliance with legal and tax requirements across entities.

Team Leadership

Lead and mentor the accounting team, providing guidance for professional growth; Effectively allocate tasks and responsibilities to meet deadlines; Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback.

Systems and Process Enhancement

Evaluate current accounting systems and processes, recommending improvements; Ensure effective use of financial software and tools; Drive automation and efficiency initiatives within the finance department; Collaborate with accounting and finance teams on the implementation of the SAP tool.

Business Relations

Direct reporting line to the Regional Finance Director for Northern, Central & Eastern Europe; Engage with global Finance Consolidation Team.

Qualifications

7-10 years of experience in a corporate finance role with proven leadership skills; Qualified accountant with expertise in IFRS and financial consolidation; Strong knowledge of financial systems, particularly Hyperion and HFM; Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Familiarity with SAP is a significant advantage; Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in financial reporting; Excellent organizational skills with the ability to work independently; Strong interpersonal skills to effectively lead a high-performing team; Proactive approach with a focus on continuous improvement; Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels; Business fluency in English and French; additional European languages are a plus.
