Job Title: Head of Sales and Business Development

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Sales and Business Development to join our team at Douglas Scott Legal Recruitment. As a key member of our senior leadership team, you will be responsible for establishing sales across geographical and critical business areas, exceeding company objectives, and establishing a strong market presence across all services offered.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement Sales Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with the organization's overall business goals and objectives, including defining target markets, setting sales targets, and creating plans to penetrate new markets.
  • Lead Sales Team: Recruit, train, and manage a high-performing sales team, providing coaching, mentoring, and performance management to ensure individual and team success.
  • Monitor and Analyze Sales Performance: Monitor and analyze sales performance metrics, such as revenue, sales pipeline, conversion rates, and customer acquisition costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing strategies to optimize performance.
  • Develop Sales Forecasts: Develop accurate sales forecasts and projections based on market trends, historical data, and input from the sales team, using this information to inform resource allocation, budgeting, and business decisions.
  • Improve Sales Process: Continuously improve the sales process, from lead generation to closing deals, identifying bottlenecks, streamlining workflows, and implementing best practices to increase efficiency.
  • Client and Supplier Relationships: Develop relationships with clients and suppliers, taking part in networking and sales events, and working with social media and marketing to ensure a match with company objectives and to clarify how projects and initiatives impact sales performance.

Requirements:

  • Education: A degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field.
  • Experience: A proven track record of success in sales roles, progressively advancing in responsibilities, with direct experience in B2B or B2C sales, and experience in sales of legal and conveyancing services.
  • Skills: Proven ability to develop sales in an organization, with strong leadership and management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
