Job Summary:

Thorn Baker Construction is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Manager to join our team. As a key member of our Facilities Management department, you will be responsible for upholding health and safety standards and maintaining a positive culture towards behavioural safety at our sites nationally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular observation inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Develop and present leading and lagging indicator statistics to inform the development of our safety strategy.
  • Provide guidance and support to site and office-based staff on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Evaluate the competence of sub-contractors and ensure they meet our health and safety standards.
  • Contribute to the development of operating procedures and other aspects of our Safety, Health, Environmental, and Energy Management Systems.
  • Perform risk and COSHH assessments and write method statements to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement within our Quality Management System.
  • Coordinate internal annual audits for site health & safety, catering, contractors, security, and our Integrated Management System.

Requirements:

  • A flexible approach to meet business and customer needs.
  • Ability to travel to sites in a geographical area with flexibility to travel across the UK and ROI.
  • Full UK driving licence.
