About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Occupational Therapist to join our team at Parklands House, Oak and Aspen wards. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals experiencing mental health challenges.

As a Senior Occupational Therapist, you will play a vital role in providing comprehensive assessment, intervention, and support to patients within our adult working-age mental health unit. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, including other therapists, nurses, and psychiatrists, to deliver person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough occupational therapy assessments using the Model of Human Occupation to identify individual needs and develop tailored treatment plans.
  • Prioritize your workload effectively, utilizing screening tools and delegating tasks to qualified assistants as appropriate.
  • Actively participate in ward rounds, discharge planning meetings, care plan reviews, and Best Interest meetings to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including community mental health teams (CMHTs), housing agencies, and third-sector organizations, to facilitate continuity of care and enhance service delivery.
  • Maintain accurate and concise clinical records, utilizing the Model of Human Occupation to document assessments, interventions, and patient progress.
  • Provide clinical supervision and mentorship to junior staff members and occupational therapy students.
