About Polaris Community:

Polaris Community is a reputable provider of children's services, dedicated to delivering innovative and outcome-focused solutions that create real value and foster brighter futures for children, young people, and families.

The role involves working with looked-after children and care leavers to enhance their emotional wellbeing. We are looking for a therapeutic outreach worker who possesses the ability to engage, motivate, and challenge. The successful candidate will demonstrate sensitivity and appropriateness in listening to and responding to children, young people, and their families/foster carers, working collaboratively in a solution-focused manner to build on existing strengths and achieve positive transformations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate within internal and nationally recognized clinical governance frameworks to ensure that all families receive a safe, high-quality, and consistent service.
  • Collaborate within an integrated multi-disciplinary team, including participation in Social Care meetings.
  • Deliver training and consultations to the systems surrounding the child or young person.
  • Provide therapeutic interventions to children in care and care leavers.
  • Support foster carers with therapeutic parenting strategies and workshops.
  • Work alongside the systems and professionals surrounding the child or young person to enhance their understanding and professional development, promoting placement stability and improved emotional health and wellbeing.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Qualification in Counseling and/or Therapy.
  • Experience working with children and young people.
  • Experience collaborating with professionals, parents, and foster carers.
  • Able to work effectively both as part of a team and independently.
  • Experience in multi-disciplinary team settings.
  • Understanding of trauma, attachment, and the experiences of children in care or care leavers, along with familiarity with the THRIVE model.
  • Experience in delivering groups and workshops for children and adults, or a willingness to learn and support delivery.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Resilience and ability to perform well under pressure.
  • Maintain professional registration with a recognized professional body.
  • Engage in monthly clinical supervision in accordance with recognized professional body standards.
  • Possess a valid UK Full driving license and be prepared to travel within the designated areas.

Polaris Community is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, and expects all staff to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an enhanced DBS Check, the cost of which will be covered by Polaris Community. We are an equal opportunities employer and encourage applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates.
