We are pleased to announce a vacancy for a Band 7, BABCP accredited Cognitive Behavioral Therapist to join our Mental Health Support Team focused on Children and Young People’s Mental Health Services. While we have funding for full-time roles, we are also considering applications for part-time or term-time contracts.
The Mental Health Support Teams are part of a significant initiative funded by NHS England and Health Education England, aimed at enhancing the mental health and well-being of children and adolescents facing mild to moderate mental health challenges within educational settings. The primary objectives of the Mental Health Support Teams include:
- Providing guidance and training to school personnel through consultations
- Delivering evidence-based interventions for children and adolescents experiencing mild to moderate mental health issues, either individually or in groups
- Assisting schools in developing a comprehensive approach to mental health
The successful candidate will be tasked with implementing evidence-based CBT interventions in educational environments for youth aged 5-18. They will manage a caseload of young individuals presenting with moderate mental health concerns and varying levels of complexity. Additionally, the role involves co-facilitating parenting programs centered on CBT.
Collaboration with senior clinical staff is essential to enhance the quality and efficacy of CBT-informed interventions provided. The role includes supporting staff development through supervision, training, and consultation, while also promoting the application of CBT principles in clinical practice. A solid understanding of low-intensity CBT practices within the context of Mental Health Support Teams is crucial.
The ideal candidate should be open to pursuing a postgraduate qualification in supervising low-intensity CBT interventions to strengthen the clinical supervision provided to Early Mental Health Practitioners and Children and Young People’s Workers.
The position is based at a designated location, with potential requirements to work from various sites. This is a permanent role.
Given the anticipated interest in this position, we encourage candidates to submit their applications promptly.
