Job Overview

The Cheshire and Wirral Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Psychologist to join our dedicated team. This role requires a professional who can operate independently, making informed and high-level clinical decisions.

The successful candidate will provide specialized psychological services to children and adolescents, guiding them through assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and ongoing support.

You will collaborate with families, educational staff, and healthcare professionals to promote mental well-being among young individuals. Your expertise will be crucial in monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of psychological interventions against established benchmarks.

This position is part-time, requiring a commitment of 30 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities

Main Duties

As a vital member of our integrated clinical team, your responsibilities will include:

  1. Delivering specialized psychological assessments and interventions for children and young people experiencing various mental health challenges.
  2. Providing therapeutic support within community settings, schools, and family homes.
  3. Conducting comprehensive evaluations to inform treatment plans and recommendations.
  4. Utilizing advanced psychological tools and techniques to enhance patient care.
  5. Offering training and guidance to families and professionals involved in the care of children and adolescents.
  6. Maintaining accountability for your caseload and ensuring high standards of practice.
  7. Engaging effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders, including families and multidisciplinary teams.

Person Specification Qualifications Essential Criteria
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology or equivalent.

  • Registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
