About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Team Lead to join our Surgical Ward team at Wirral Community Health and Care NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for providing clinical and professional leadership to a ward-based team of registered nurses and healthcare assistants.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and professional leadership to the ward team, ensuring high-quality patient care and adherence to Trust policies and procedures.
  • Deputise for the Ward Manager in their absence, taking charge of the ward and ensuring continuity of care.
  • Develop and implement effective care plans, working closely with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of the ward team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to junior staff, promoting their professional development and ensuring they have the skills and knowledge required to deliver high-quality patient care.
  • Collaborate with other departments and services to ensure effective communication and coordination of patient care.
Requirements
  • Registered General Nurse educated to degree level (or equivalent)
  • Specialist Practitioner Qualification - District Nursing (or equivalent postgraduate modules) or equivalent level nursing qualification/experience
  • Current NMC registration
  • Evidence of further recent study/professional development
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Independent non-medical prescriber or willing to undertake
  • Teaching/Mentorship Qualification
  • Clinical examination module (or willing to undertake)
  • Leadership Qualification - ILM level 6 or equivalent (or willing to work towards) or relevant experience
