About the Role

Livewell Southwest is seeking an experienced Mental Health Practitioner to join our Home Treatment Team as a Crisis Intervention Specialist. This is a 12-month maternity cover position, working 12 hours per week with flexible working patterns available.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and triage referrals for individuals presenting in a mental health crisis
  • Provide skilled telephone advice to referrers and patients and carers
  • Offer urgent mental health assessments in a location most convenient for the patient
  • Identify the most appropriate intervention required for the patient, with an emphasis on positive risk management
  • Provide high-quality assessment reports and letters to relevant professionals
  • Support the Team Manager in the effective running of the team and monitoring of standards

Requirements

  • Significant post-registration experience of working with people with complex mental ill health in the community
  • Experience of working collaboratively with patients and their families/carers
  • Previous experience of working at a Band 6 level or 2 years post-registration experience in acute mental health
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize workload
  • Robust and positive approach towards risk assessment
