Care Assistant for Physically Disabled Individual

Job Summary:

Disability North is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Female Personal Assistant to support a physically disabled Biology graduate in living as independently as possible. The successful candidate will work as part of a 24-hour care team, providing essential care and support services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personal care and support services, including meal preparation, medication administration, and application of braces.
  • Enable the employer to participate in daily life activities, such as social events, hospital appointments, and work placements.
  • Assist with daily living tasks, such as household chores and errands.
  • Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure the employer's needs are met at all times.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in care work, preferably with physically disabled individuals.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and waking nights.
  • Reliable, trustworthy, and professional attitude.
  • Full clean driving license.
  • Non-smoker due to medical reasons and life-threatening allergy to cigarette smoke.

Contract Details:

  • Permanent contract with 36 hours per week.
  • 5.6 weeks' holiday pay pro-rata.
  • Enhanced certificate of Disclosure (DBS) required.
