Position Overview

We are pleased to announce a unique opportunity for a Risk Management Coordinator to join the Quality and Clinical Performance Directorate at Midlands Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

In this role, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the Head of Safety and Risk Management, providing expert clinical and non-clinical risk management guidance to both clinical and corporate services. The Coordinator will play a pivotal role in fostering a proactive risk management environment throughout the Trust, aimed at cultivating a transparent and educational culture for risk management, ultimately enhancing patient safety.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable expertise and experience in patient safety and risk management. This position will necessitate travel across various regions to support Care Groups and attend relevant meetings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that incidents are accurately reported and thoroughly investigated using established methodologies and specialized risk knowledge, while also training staff on incident reporting, investigation processes, and the dissemination of lessons learned.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on incidents for various subgroups and committees, emphasizing trends, outcomes, and actionable recommendations for dissemination across the Trust.
  • Offer expert advice on clinical and non-clinical risk management to individuals, managers, and staff members.
  • Conduct training sessions as part of the Trust's risk management training program.
  • Assist the Head of Risk Management with external reporting obligations, including the maintenance of reporting systems, data quality assessments, and report generation.

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant field

  • Risk Management Qualification or progress towards it

  • Proven experience in a risk management role within Health or Social Care

  • Experience in reporting to senior management and committees regarding performance, quality of care, serious incidents, and potential risks
