About the Role:
The Staffordshire Fire and Rescue Service is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to fill the position of Community Safety Officer. This exciting opportunity is part of our efforts to make Staffordshire a safer place to live, work, and visit.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the implementation of the Fire and Rescue Service's Prevention, Protection, Road Safety, and Business Safety Strategy.
- Support the delivery of corporate objectives within the Service's Safety Plan.
- Focus on wider prevention delivery, including extended Home Fire Safety Visits, Safe + Sound initiatives, and fire setter referrals.
- Work with partners through the place-based approach, including troubled families and vulnerable individuals.
- Gather evidence, record, and implement solutions to support community members.
- Collaborate with crews, volunteers, and partners to plan and deliver outcomes.
- Enhance community engagement within local areas.
- Maintain awareness of the current Service Delivery Group prevention action plan.
- Deliver and coordinate prevention initiatives on various topics, including Olive Branch training.
- Evaluate, feedback, and deliver outcome processes for prevention initiatives.
- Operate administration systems for referrals and monitoring.
- Represent the Service at partnership meetings to promote prevention activities.
- Case-manage individuals at risk in the community.
- Conduct fire safety training and visit children and young people flagged as fire setters.
- Support the delivery of prevention training to staff.
Requirements:
- Good communication, organization, and IT skills.
- Experience in delivering and presenting to varied audiences.
- Ability to use intelligence and data to drive initiatives.
- A full driving license and access to a suitable vehicle with business use insurance.
- Previous experience in community safety initiatives, working with key partners, and with vulnerable people is advantageous.
