Cost Estimator – Healthcare Renovation

Cost Estimator

Salary Range:
£35,000 - £45,000 per annum + benefits package

Role Overview:
The successful Cost Estimator will be tasked with generating precise and competitive cost estimates for a variety of healthcare renovation and fit-out projects. This position is vital for ensuring the financial viability of projects from the initial bidding phase through to completion.

Key Duties:

  • Bid Preparation: Develop comprehensive and competitive estimates for interior renovation and fit-out projects.
  • Cost Evaluation: Assess project specifications and requirements to formulate accurate cost estimates.
  • Supplier Coordination: Solicit and assess quotes from vendors and subcontractors.
  • Documentation: Create and present detailed cost breakdowns and bidding documents.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and devise strategies to mitigate them.
  • Project Collaboration: Work alongside project managers, architects, and clients to ensure estimates align with project objectives and budgets.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain precise records of estimates, quotations, and project expenditures.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay informed about industry trends, materials, and techniques to improve estimating practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Experience: Proven experience in estimating within the fit-out or construction sector.
  • Knowledge: In-depth understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and cost estimation practices.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and numerical abilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Software Skills: Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Problem-Solving: Capable of critical thinking and effective problem resolution.
  • Team Collaboration: Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
