Role Overview: As a Construction Cost Estimator, your main responsibility will be to create precise and detailed cost assessments for various refurbishment initiatives. Your key tasks will include:

  • Evaluating project blueprints and specifications to generate thorough cost estimates.
  • Conducting site visits to collect information and evaluate the project scope.
  • Working closely with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to secure accurate pricing.
  • Building and nurturing relationships with suppliers and contractors.
  • Preparing and delivering estimates to clients and stakeholders.
  • Tracking project expenses to ensure they align with the estimates provided.
  • Modifying estimates as needed to account for changes in project scope or conditions.
  • Keeping meticulous records of all estimates and associated documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Construction Cost Estimator, ideally within the healthcare sector.
  • In-depth understanding of refurbishment projects, especially in hospitals, care homes, and retirement communities.
  • Experience in estimating costs for kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, and dining areas.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Dependable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
