Job Summary

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Medical Secretary to join the Community Paediatric Service at Powys Teaching Health Board. The successful candidate will provide administrative support to the Consultant Paediatricians, ensuring the smooth operation of the service.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide secretarial and administrative support to the Consultant Paediatricians
  • Deal with patients' relatives, carers, and external partners in a professional and diplomatic manner
  • Transcribe medical correspondence and audio typing
  • Book appointments and maintain clinical activity records
  • Liaise with departments to coordinate patient pathways and retrieve medical notes

Requirements

  • GCSE level education or equivalent
  • RSA 3 or equivalent
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Able to maintain confidentiality and work autonomously
  • Strong IT skills and ability to understand complex situations
  • Knowledge of secretarial procedures and software programs
  • Ability to work to deadlines and prioritize tasks
