About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Assistant Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team at Powys Teaching Health Board. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing psychological support and services to our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide psychological assessment and interventions to clients, working independently and as part of a team.
  • Support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients, providing advice, support, and prehabilitation services.
  • Assist in clinically related administration, conduct audits, collect statistics, and develop audit and research projects.
  • Liaise with and provide an advisory service for a wide range of voluntary and statutory organizations.
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Hold an Honours Degree in Psychology, graded at upper second class or above.
  • Be entitled to graduate membership of the British Psychological Society.
  • Have evidence of some formal teaching and clinical supervision of practice.
  • Have a thorough understanding of the needs and difficulties of people with mental health problems and other disabilities.
  • Be able to apply existing theoretical psychological knowledge to a mental and physical health context.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Hold a Master's degree in a relevant subject.
  • Have experience using computers for databases, data analysis, and MS Teams.
  • Have experience of further paid work in direct care provision, ideally as an Assistant Psychologist or Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner.
