Position Overview

Location: London, GB

As the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) for our UK sales divisions, you will lead initiatives aimed at revenue enhancement and strategic expansion within the UK market. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, EMEA, and collaborating closely with the Global Chief Commercial Officer for Advertising Revenue, you will manage a team of industry leaders and oversee the implementation of innovative commercial strategies tailored for the UK market. By utilizing market insights and digital proficiency, you will propel the function to foster cross-platform revenue growth through comprehensive consumer behavior analysis, trend identification, and a thorough understanding of competitive dynamics.

This role is pivotal in guiding the development of targeted marketing strategies, refining product offerings, and initiating sales campaigns that enhance engagement and drive revenue. Success in this position necessitates agility in adapting to evolving market conditions and audience preferences, ensuring a competitive advantage and sustained growth.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the Managing Director, EMEA, the Global Chief Commercial Officer of Advertising Revenue, and other senior executives to effectively execute global strategies within the UK market.
  2. Stimulate revenue growth by innovating existing and introducing new sales strategies across all platforms, with a strong emphasis on digital.
  3. Lead a senior team of industry heads, each responsible for key sectors including Fashion, Beauty & Luxury, Travel, Home and BizFiTech, Media, Entertainment & Auto.
  4. Foster a cohesive and strategic sales approach among the senior leadership team to effectively enhance revenue across sectors and within the market.
  5. Ensure that the commercial sales teams maintain a rigorous focus on data analytics to establish team and individual performance metrics.
  6. Elevate the broader commercial sales function, setting new standards for excellence and performance.
  7. Develop new client and agency relationships while strengthening existing partnerships to improve renewal rates and accelerate new business opportunities.
  8. Build strong collaborations with Editorial and Creative teams to ensure alignment of content and successful cross-platform program execution.
  9. Establish productive working relationships with global stakeholders.
  10. Collaborate effectively with Editorial leadership to deliver profitable, world-class events, creating new opportunities across our brands while aligning with the creative vision.
  11. Foster talent development and cultivate a culture of collaboration, performance, respect, and excellence.
  12. Inspire teams to streamline processes and enhance efficiency, delivering innovative solutions for clients.
Essential Qualifications
  1. Demonstrated experience in leading a commercial sales function within the media sector.
  2. Extensive experience in revenue generation with a proven track record of successfully transforming and driving revenue across multiple platforms in a global context.
  3. Experience in diversifying revenue streams and launching new products.
  4. Proven leadership skills with a commitment to people management and a history of building high-performing commercial teams across all platforms, particularly in digital.
  5. A creative and engaging leader who fosters an inclusive and empowering workplace.
  6. Experience in shaping and implementing global commercial strategies within media and publishing.
  7. Exceptional communication skills with the ability to navigate a matrix structure and collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  8. Strong network within the media industry.
  9. A self-motivated individual with high energy and excellent presentation, creative, and analytical skills.
  10. A genuine passion for and knowledge of Condé Nast's brands.
