Position Overview

As the Chief Business Officer (CBO) for our UK Commercial sales divisions, you will lead the charge in driving revenue and strategic expansion within the UK market. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, EMEA, and collaborating closely with the Global Chief Business Officer for Advertising Revenue, you will manage a team of Heads of Industry and oversee the execution of innovative commercial strategies tailored for the UK market. By harnessing insights and digital proficiency, you will propel the function to foster cross-platform revenue growth through consumer behavior analysis, trend identification, and competitive intelligence.

This role is pivotal in guiding the development of targeted marketing strategies, optimizing product offerings, and initiating sales campaigns that enhance engagement and elevate revenue. Success in this position demands agility in adapting to evolving market dynamics and audience preferences, ensuring a competitive advantage and sustained growth.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Collaborate with the Managing Director, EMEA, the Global Chief Business Officer of Advertising Revenue, and other senior executives to effectively implement global strategies within the UK market.
  2. Drive revenue enhancement by transforming existing sales approaches and introducing innovative strategies across all platforms, with a strong emphasis on digital.
  3. Lead a senior team of Heads of Industry, each responsible for key sectors such as Fashion, Beauty & Luxury, Travel, Home and BizFiTech, Media, Entertainment & Auto.
  4. Foster a unified and strategic sales methodology across the senior leadership team to effectively increase revenue across various sectors and within the market.
  5. Ensure that the Commercial sales teams maintain a steadfast focus on data analytics to establish team and individual performance metrics.
  6. Elevate and invigorate the broader commercial sales function, setting new standards for excellence and performance.
  7. Develop new client and agency relationships while strengthening existing partnerships to enhance renewal rates and accelerate new business opportunities.
  8. Build robust relationships with Editorial and Creative teams to ensure content alignment and successful cross-platform program execution.
  9. Establish collaborative relationships with global stakeholders.
  10. Work effectively with Editorial leadership to deliver profitable and world-class events, creating new opportunities across our brands while aligning with the brands' creative vision.
  11. Develop talent and foster a culture of collaboration, performance, respect, and excellence.
  12. Inspire teams to implement streamlined processes and improve efficiency to deliver innovative solutions for clients.
Essential Qualifications
  1. Demonstrated experience leading a commercial sales function within the media sector.
  2. Extensive experience in commercial revenue generation with a proven track record of successfully transforming and driving revenue across all platforms within a global organization.
  3. Proven ability to diversify revenue streams and launch new products effectively.
  4. Exceptional leadership skills, committed to people management, with a history of establishing high-performing commercial teams across all platforms, particularly in digital.
