Telecommunications Coordinator - Band 2

Our telecommunications coordinators manage incoming communications from both the public and staff around the clock, ensuring that every caller is treated with empathy, respect, and professionalism. This role often serves as the initial point of contact for individuals reaching out to the hospital.
The team operates within the Estates & Facilities Division, contributing to the Logistics group under Facilities. This division encompasses all the essential operations that support the hospital's overall service delivery.
We seek enthusiastic, self-driven individuals who appreciate a diverse work environment and enjoy assisting others. A strong affinity for interpersonal interactions is crucial, as is the ability to navigate challenging scenarios—whether it involves dispatching emergency teams or assisting with access to parking facilities. As the first point of contact for the Trust, maintaining composure and professionalism in all situations is vital.
We offer a variety of roles, including full-time, part-time, and casual positions, available throughout the week with shifts covering all hours of the day.

Key Responsibilities
The role is multifaceted, ensuring that no two days are the same. Responsibilities include:
- Managing emergency communications and coordinating with specialized response teams during critical situations.
- Processing and replacing malfunctioning communication devices, conducting test calls for response teams, and maintaining the messaging system.
- Updating and managing on-call schedules for clinical teams.
- Assisting in the upkeep of the hospital's telephone directory.
- Responding to fire system alerts and directing the appropriate teams to the necessary locations.

Qualifications and Training
Essential
- Good general education level equivalent to 'O' Level or GCSE.
