About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical skills in the field of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) as a highly specialist paediatric occupational therapist.

You will have the chance to work with a highly supportive team and contribute to the development of our services at Kent Community Health NHS Foundation Trust.

We value and use our relationships with families, schools, and local Paediatric Therapy Services to benefit our staff and the children and families we serve.

Main Responsibilities
  • Take a lead on occupational therapy needs, working with a multi-disciplinary team to assess and support children and young people with complex needs.
  • Deliver training courses to professionals who support children and young people with less complex needs.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to ensure best practice in transdisciplinary working.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • Degree in Occupational Therapy
    • Registration with HCPC
    • Registered member of Royal College of Occupational Therapists
  • Desirable:
    • A minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience working as an Occupational Therapist
    • Substantial post-qualification experience working as a paediatric therapist, including children with severe and complex needs that require the use of AAC and AT
    • Experience of working with education and school staff
