About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Thoracic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our dynamic and growing team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to patients with lung cancer and thoracic surgery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert nursing care to patients with lung cancer and thoracic surgery, including preoperative, postoperative, and follow-up care.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including thoracic surgeons, to ensure seamless care pathways and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement education programs for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals to promote best practice and improve patient outcomes.
  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure effective communication and coordination of care.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and outcomes.
Requirements
  • Active 1st level registration with the NMC.
  • 1st Degree in nursing or health-related subject, with a relevant accredited post-registration qualification at level 3.
  • Qualification in Teaching and Assessing.
  • Proven experience in thoracic nursing, with a strong understanding of lung cancer and thoracic surgery.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to patient-centered care.
