About the Role

The Thoracic Clinical Nurse Specialist is a vital member of our multidisciplinary team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust (UHBW). This role requires a highly skilled and experienced nurse to provide expert care to patients with lung cancer and other thoracic conditions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide specialist advice and support to patients and their families throughout their treatment journey.
  • Work closely with thoracic surgeons and other multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
  • Participate in weekly multidisciplinary meetings to discuss patient cases and ensure informed decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care and support.
Requirements
  • Active 1st level registration with the NMC.
  • 1st Degree in nursing or a health-related subject.
  • Relevant accredited post-registration qualification at level 3.
  • Qualification in Teaching and Assessing.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and as part of a team.
