Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Thoracic Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our esteemed Women's and Children's Division at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. This pivotal role will oversee the management of the newly established Children and Young People's Gender Service (South West) along with various pediatric medical specialties.

The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the General Manager for Children's Medical Specialties, Clinical Chair, Divisional Director/Deputy Directors, Clinical Directors, Heads of Nursing, Senior Nurse/Matrons, and Lead Clinicians to ensure the provision of exceptional clinical services while achieving strategic and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily operational management of service areas, ensuring effective collaboration with clinical and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Work in partnership with clinical and administrative teams to optimize clinic capacity, ensuring patient treatment aligns with clinical needs and Trust objectives.
  • Establish and maintain effective processes to monitor and evaluate performance across services.
  • Ensure the availability of facilities and resources to meet service demands, including space management and analysis.
  • Develop and implement policies and standardized procedures relevant to the role, ensuring compliance with Trust requirements.
  • Contribute to strategic and service planning by formulating actionable plans that align with Trust strategy.
  • Manage data analysis to provide timely and accurate information on key performance indicators to the management team.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance performance and service delivery, collaborating with Trust performance teams as necessary.
  • Coordinate with other departments and Trust members to facilitate the smooth operation of services.
