Role Overview

We are currently seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician to become a vital part of our team. This position involves contributing to the operation and upkeep of our services, ensuring the reliability of our systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducting repairs and maintenance on essential remote plant and process control systems to support the safe and efficient delivery of services.
  • Executing planned maintenance tasks and responding promptly to operational challenges, including onsite analysis and resolution of complex issues.
  • Identifying opportunities for enhancements and resilience in operational processes, including the timely execution of small capital investment projects.
  • Engaging with a diverse range of technologies, including sensors, instrumentation, plant networks, PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition), and telemetry.

Additional Duties

  • Participating in a standby roster to provide out-of-hours maintenance support.
  • Collaborating with various operational teams, including mechanical and electrical technicians, to prioritize and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Utilizing technical knowledge in industrial control and instrumentation to recommend process optimizations and improvements.
  • Assisting management in identifying root causes of equipment failures and implementing resolutions.
  • Working with maintenance managers and engineers to ensure compliance with technical standards and relevant legislation.
  • Managing firmware and software updates in accordance with best practices for change and security management.
  • Adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, including Mathematics, English, and a Science subject (or equivalent).
  • Relevant qualifications or training in industrial control.
  • Experience with process control and ELV/LV electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, including management and programming, particularly on Schneider platforms.
  • Knowledge of calibration and maintenance of instrumentation.
  • A valid UK driver's license and the ability to travel as required.
