About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our Dispensary team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a key role in the smooth running of the Dispensary, supervising and assisting with the training of junior staff, and carrying out a final accuracy check of medications.
Main Responsibilities
- Liaise with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Supervise and assist with the training of junior staff to develop their skills and knowledge.
- Carry out a final accuracy check of medications to ensure patient safety and quality of care.
- Assist the Technician in the smooth running of the Dispensary, including dispensing medication for inpatient, outpatient, discharge, and Controlled Drug prescriptions.
Requirements
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues and patients.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of pharmacy practices and procedures, including dispensing and medication management.
- Experience in a leadership or supervisory role, with the ability to motivate and develop junior staff.
