About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Assistant to join our Dispensary team at the Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. As a Senior Pharmacy Assistant, you will play a key role in the smooth running of the Dispensary, supervising and assisting with the training of junior staff, and carrying out a final accuracy check of medications.
Main Responsibilities
- Liaise with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless communication and collaboration.
- Supervise and assist with the training of junior staff to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
- Carry out a final accuracy check of medications to ensure they are dispensed correctly and safely.
- Assist the Technician in the smooth running of the Dispensary, including managing stock levels, ordering supplies, and maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
Requirements
- Experience working in a pharmacy or healthcare setting, with a strong understanding of pharmacy procedures and protocols.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and patients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks.
- Knowledge of pharmacy software and systems, with the ability to learn new systems and technologies quickly.
