Position: Band 4 – Assistant Practitioner

Type: Permanent

An exciting opportunity exists for an Assistant Practitioner to become part of the Trauma and Orthopaedics Directorate. This role focuses on supporting patients throughout the Orthopaedic Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) pathway.

The successful candidate will be tasked with delivering dedicated care and support to patients scheduled for Orthopaedic Elective procedures. This includes providing care, guidance, and assistance throughout the entire patient journey, from prehabilitation to recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work independently and collaboratively within the broader Orthopaedic multidisciplinary team.
  • Assess patient needs and modify existing treatment plans as necessary.
  • Deliver care without supervision, ensuring high standards of patient support.

Ideal candidates will be motivated and enthusiastic, demonstrating experience in health, social care, or the independent sector while managing a delegated caseload.

Successful applicants will receive support to enhance their knowledge and skills through training, development, appraisal processes, supervision, and continuous professional development (CPD) opportunities.
