Role Overview:

We are currently seeking a Water Systems Analyst to enhance our operations. This role is a full-time, permanent position, offering a competitive salary range of £34,000 - £40,000 per annum, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

In this capacity, you will play a crucial role in identifying, communicating, and executing optimal strategies for water supply management. Your primary focus will be on data analysis, modeling, and forecasting to support proactive decision-making in water systems planning and execution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support compliance with water abstraction licenses and treatment works production constraints.
  • Contribute to the development of a comprehensive Water Resource/Production plan, identifying potential supply issues and proposing effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with Water Strategy and DWS Management teams to ensure clarity and adherence to Water Supply Strategies.
  • Assist in generating regular reports regarding water supply usage and emerging concerns for Drinking Water Services.
  • Help formulate operational strategies for a proactive approach to the Drinking Water Services process, focusing on water resources, supply-demand forecasting, and production planning.
  • Conduct performance evaluations to assess current operations and identify future risks based on key performance indicators.
  • Develop strategies aimed at enhancing resilience and service quality.
  • Support network resilience studies and investments in collaboration with DWS and Asset Management.
  • Assist in data collection for water resources and operations models, utilizing various modeling tools.
  • Contribute to the implementation of the Drought Plan and Water Resources Management Plan as necessary.
  • Coordinate daily outputs of water treatment works to ensure customer supply standards are met.
  • Assist in creating a detailed production plan alongside the Water Systems Manager.
  • Communicate effectively across all organizational levels and with stakeholders to optimize water system operations.
  • Utilize operational information and software to enhance the efficiency of the Water Distribution Network.
  • When required, act in place of the Water Systems Manager.
  • Maintain accurate records of changes to DWS assets in accordance with company protocols.
  • Engage in continuous training and self-development to leverage evolving technologies.
  • Support management teams with incident and event management, providing technical analysis and solutions.
  • Participate in the Strategic Network Manager Standby Rota.
  • Provide technical insights to the Operational Management team during incidents.
Candidate Profile:
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs or equivalent, including Maths, English, and a Science subject.
  • Demonstrated experience in effective teamwork.
  • Strong communication skills across various levels, including with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proficient in utilizing information systems and analyzing data.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage resources effectively.
  • Understanding of water supply networks and treatment works operations.
  • Capability to make sound judgments in complex and high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to interpret technical information from diverse sources.
  • Effective multitasking skills.
  • Personal accountability for achieving results.
  • Dependable and responsible, maintaining a high level of commitment.
