About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Senior Residential Care Officer to join our team at Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council. As a key member of our care team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to children and young people in our residential homes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a corporate parent and champion for Children in Need, ensuring their needs are met and their rights are respected.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans that support the therapeutic model of care, working closely with health partners and other professionals.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to care staff, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to deliver high-quality care.
  • Collaborate with the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager, and care team to deliver care packages that meet the needs of our young people.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures that promote the well-being and safety of our young people.
Requirements
  • Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent qualification.
  • Experience of working with children and young people in a residential care setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with young people, staff, and other professionals.
  • Ability to work flexibly and respond to the changing needs of our young people.
  • Commitment to the principles of the therapeutic model of care and the importance of providing a safe and nurturing environment for our young people.
