As a Registered Manager in this Ofsted rated GOOD establishment, your responsibilities will include:

  • Creating Individualized Care Plans: Ensure each young person has a customized plan addressing their diverse needs.
  • Building a Strong Team: Collaborate with recruitment to attract and retain the right talent for your home.
  • Facilitating Youth Consultation: Implement systems to gather feedback from young individuals regarding their care.
  • Assigning Key Workers: Designate a Key Worker for each young person to oversee their care plan.
  • Upholding Quality Standards: Monitor and maintain high standards of care in accordance with National Minimum Standards.
  • Addressing Complaints: Manage any complaints or concerns regarding child protection.
  • Collaborating with Stakeholders: Work alongside parents, guardians, and professionals to enhance the welfare of young individuals.
  • Participating in Meetings: Engage in childcare planning and review meetings as necessary.
  • Promoting a Safe Environment: Ensure the highest standards of care for the children in your service.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years in residential child care, with at least 1 year in a supervisory capacity within the last 5 years.
  • Qualifications: Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or equivalent), or a commitment to obtain within 6 months of employment.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Quality Standards, SCCIF, childcare legislation, and regulatory frameworks.
  • Skills: Proficient in planning, organization, budget management, resource allocation, and team leadership.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Understanding of Trauma: Awareness of the needs of children facing behavioral, emotional, and social challenges.
  • Driving License: Full UK driving license required.
