Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to collaborate with the operations team to ensure the successful execution of events. You will work closely with the Operations Manager, guiding and motivating the Deputy Events Managers and casual staff to deliver exceptional experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the venue for events.
  • Ensuring smooth and safe event operations.
  • Assisting with event setup and teardown.

This position involves approximately 10% desk work and 90% active engagement around the venue, making it a physically demanding role.

  • Has prior experience in event management and team leadership.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in a similar event management setting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide outstanding customer service.
  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to think critically and solve problems effectively.
  • Familiarity with technical aspects of event production is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of operational health and safety practices.

Main Duties

Your main duties will include:

  • Welcoming clients and providing exceptional service.
  • Preparing the venue for events, ensuring cleanliness and setup.
  • Coordinating with internal and external teams, including contractors and service providers.
  • Supporting event organizers throughout their tenure.
  • Addressing client and visitor inquiries professionally.
  • Managing complaints effectively and fairly.
  • Communicating essential information to team members during shifts.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and order in event spaces.
  • Ensuring the security of the venue during operations.
  • Overseeing health and safety for all attendees and staff.
  • Monitoring contractors and assisting with client subcontractors.

Qualifications/Training

  • Event Management qualification is beneficial but not mandatory.
  • First Aid certification is advantageous.
  • Health & Safety qualifications (e.g., IOSH, NEBOSH) are a plus.
  • Personal license holder is preferred.
  • Fire Safety Training is beneficial.
  • Manual Handling training is a plus.
  • A valid driving license is essential.
  • Understanding of electrical safety is advantageous.

Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Special Requirements

  • Availability for weekend, evening, and holiday work.
