Position Overview

A full-time opportunity has become available for a Healthcare Reception Coordinator at Stockbridge Village Medical Centre. The role involves working during standard office hours, Monday to Friday. Candidates must possess prior experience in a healthcare setting, and proficiency in computer systems is required. The ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively is essential.

Flexibility to cover for colleagues during absences is necessary.

This is a permanent role, contingent upon satisfactory references and completion of required employment checks, along with a successful probationary period.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Welcoming, assisting, and directing patients to the appropriate services or healthcare professionals in a friendly and efficient manner.
  • Performing general reception and administrative tasks as part of a collaborative team.
  • Supporting other team members as needed.
  • Providing a courteous and helpful service to patients.
  • Managing incoming phone calls promptly to ensure all lines are attended to.
  • Processing prescription requests accurately.
  • Addressing patient inquiries effectively.
  • Documenting clinical correspondence (if trained).

About Our Practice

Stockbridge Village Medical Centre has been a trusted healthcare provider in the community for many years, serving a patient base of 8,800 individuals. We pride ourselves on delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining high staff retention rates.

Our administrative team consists of 12 dedicated members, some of whom have received training in clinical areas such as phlebotomy. The senior management team, including a Business Manager and a Practice Manager, provides essential support to all staff.

Our practice includes three partners and three salaried GPs, creating a supportive and dynamic work environment. We value positivity, innovation, and dedication, making this an exciting time to join our team.

We are a forward-thinking practice that has invested in the latest IT systems to enhance our service delivery.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Experience in customer service.
  • Background in primary care settings.

Desirable:

  • Experience in coding clinical letters.
  • Knowledge of RMS referrals.

Educational Background

Desirable:

  • Experience in a customer-facing role.
  • NVQ in Customer Care or NVQ in Health and Social Care.
