Job Title: Ocean Freight Operations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Ocean Freight Operations Specialist to join our team at Freight Personnel. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth movement of freight from the Far East and USA to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with customers, overseas agents, and suppliers to ensure excellent customer service.
  • Coordinate the movement of freight, ensuring timely delivery and accurate documentation.
  • Arrange haulage with shipping lines and ensure all necessary documentation is in place.
  • Process and check invoices prior to dispatch, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage and maintain relevant documents, ensuring they are readily available as required.
  • Respond to customer queries and requests in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, agents, and suppliers, using clear and concise language.
  • Utilize customer ERP and SAP systems as required.

Requirements:

  • Experience in ocean freight forwarding, with a strong understanding of the industry.
  • Ability to work under pressure, meeting deadlines and managing multiple tasks.
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with customers and stakeholders.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office, with experience in Cargowise a plus.
  • Proactive, team-oriented individual with excellent time management and organizational skills.
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated, with a strong work ethic.
