About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive Pricing Specialist Ocean Freight Expert to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, carriers, and suppliers to negotiate and confirm rates effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive and analyze customer quotations to identify opportunities for cost savings
  • Negotiate rates with carriers and suppliers to maximize cost-effectiveness
  • Prepare and submit customer quotations and proposals within agreed timeframes
  • Work closely with customers to manage and follow up on all quotes to obtain feedback and measure success
  • Track and report on the success and failure rate of quotes to management
  • Develop and build relationships with customers to provide exceptional customer service
  • Monitor carrier websites and notifications to stay up-to-date on market trends and changes
  • Promote continuous improvement and suggest new ideas to enhance the pricing process
  • Perform other delegated tasks as assigned by the reporting manager

Requirements:

  • Industry and operational knowledge of ocean freight - inbound, outbound, and cross trade
  • Understanding of how to influence profitability through effective pricing
  • Strong numerical and commercial skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent usage of computer and office applications (Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office)
  • Proactive, team worker with excellent time management and organization skills
  • Enthusiastic, flexible, and self-motivated
