Role Overview

As a Benefits Finance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial aspects of our benefits program. Reporting to the Benefits Manager, you will ensure accurate and timely processing of payments, reconciliations, and administrative tasks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including Local Authorities, DWP representatives, individuals we support, and their families, to resolve inquiries and address concerns effectively.
  • Accurately complete all relevant forms received from the DWP and Local Authorities, adhering to strict deadlines and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage weekly BACS payments, conduct daily bank statement downloads and uploads, allocate cash manually or through automated systems, and perform regular account reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Administer, reconcile, and audit Barclaycards in accordance with established expenditure guidelines.
  • Promptly notify relevant parties of any changes in circumstances and ensure timely reassessments of benefits and charges are processed.
  • Establish and maintain corporate appointee accounts. Serve as a designated contact to promptly resolve banking inquiries.
  • Assist the Benefits Manager in onboarding new employees through the acquisition process, liaising with integration teams, operations managers, and service providers to ensure a seamless transition for individuals we support.
  • Review and approve personal money requests for non-appointees, ensuring compliance with the Schedule of Authority and all company policies.
  • Participate in meetings and training sessions as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Benefits Manager.
